The lineup for NPR Music’s opening-night showcase at this year’s SXSW Music Festival has been released. Spoon will headline the show, which will be webcast on NPR.org and broadcast live on five NPR member stations, beginning at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, March 17, from Stubb’s in Austin, Texas.
NPR Music’s bill for opening night will include Broken Bells (Danger Mouse and James Mercer of The Shins), Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, The Walkmen, and Visqueen. Then, on Thursday, March 18 beginning at 1 p.m. ET, they’ll webcast and broadcast live from The Parish in Austin, with sets from Sleigh Bells, Surfer Blood, Local Natives, Brooklyn Rider, and the rap duo G-Side.
