We all know who Norah Jones is, right? Think a female version of John Mayer that has not totally alienated every music listener that does not belong to a fraternity. All right, I know that is a little harsh, but on a more serious note, Norah Jones has proven to be an immense musical force. Her debut album carried away 5 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
While a powerhouse on her own, Jones is not new to the collaboration game. Having previously released collaborations with musical royalty such as Dolly Parton and Ray Charles, she has also found huge success recording with Willie Nelson, whom she considers her musical mentor.
The new album titled …Featuring, due Nov. 2 from Blue Note Records, is a compilation of many of her collaborations, with Jones most often taking the “featuring” role for artists such as Belle & Sebastian, M. Ward, Herbie Hancock, Foo Fighters, Gillian Welch, Outkast, Q-Tip and others.
