Pearl Jam have big plans for 2011, which marks their 20th anniversary as a band. Although they’re not spilling the beans on everything they have in store this year, on PearlJam.com Eddie Vedder and pals bullet-pointed a few of the things fans can expect this year.
Among the announcements:
– They will be re-releasing deluxe editions of the band’s second and third albums, Vs. and Vitalogy, in the spring (their debut, Ten, was re-issued in 2009).
– Cameron Crowe’s documentary about the band, Pearl Jam Twenty, will be released. A book and soundtrack album will accompany the film.
– Pearl Jam will host an “anniversary destination weekend bash” in late summer. This likely refers to the “Pearl Jam festival” that manager Kelly Curtis hinted about last month.
The band also promised other special events and “new, unexpected releases.” Of course, this is all on top of Pearl Jam’s new live album, Live on Ten Legs, which comes out on January 17. The album features 18 tracks recorded between 2003 and 2010.
