Lady GaGa has announced that she will release the first single “Born This Way” off her upcoming album on Friday Feb 11.
The pop icon announced today (Feb. 7) via her Twitter page that the single would be released two days earlier than expected. It is the title track from her next full-length album.
“Can’t wait any longer, single coming Friday” was the brief statement she posted.
Last month she leaked the songs lyrics on her Twitter as a teaser for fans. She also previewed a few lines during her award acceptance at the 2010 MTV VMA’s.
The songs producers include DJ White Shadow, GaGa and Fernando Garibay. White Shadow told Billboard.com that the song was recorded “around the world” and that it “sounds like it reads, but not like you think until you hear it.”
Regardless of its pushed forward release, GaGa will still perform the single on Sunday (Feb. 13) at the Grammy awards ceremony. She announced this via a phone call on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Born This Way,” the full-length follow-up to 2008’s “The Fame,” will be released on May 23. “You And I” and “Edge of Glory” are the only other confirmed tracks.
“I wish it was coming out in March! But you know, I really want to take the time to set it up properly, and do all the TV [shows] I need to do.”
