Chuck Berry Is Honored with Statue

Friday morning (July 29) a Chuck Berry statue was revealed where the musician was born in St. Louis, MI. The tribute was almost blocked by Elsie Glickert, a former University City council member who believed whatever his musical contributions his history with the law and women didn't merit such an honor. She managed to get the signatures of 100 people who were against the statue, but there was no trouble at today ceremony, just an a supportive crowd for the 84 year old rocker. Otis Redding Hits Charts Again after 41 Years

Otis Redding has a top 50 Single and a top 15 R&B single, with the help from Jay-Z and Kanye West, for the first time since 1969. Tyler the Creator and the Odd Future crew have announced a US tour starting in this fall. No word yet on which members of the Hip-Hop collective will be joining Tyler on the tour yet. The band, known for controversial lyrics, bizarre videos, and most importantly explosive live shows, was one of the biggest pulls at this year’s SXSW and is said not to be missed.
