Former Smiths and Modest Mouse guitarist Johnny Marr has announced three shows in Manchester, with erstwhile backing band The Healers.
It will be the group’s first gig since 2006′s Manchester Vs. Cancer show, which also saw Marr reconnect with Smiths bassist Andy Rourke.
Dates for the shows are:
Thursday 29th September – Night & Day Café
Tuesday 4th October – The Deaf Institute
Thursday 6th October – The Deaf Institute
According to Marr’s official website:
There is a wonderful buzz around town about Johnny and the Healers small club shows.
However, Marr is yet to reveal who ‘The Healers’ are to be. It is thought that the line-up will the be original formed in 2000, which comprised of ex-Kula Shaker bassist Alonza Bevan, former Oasis and The Who drummer Zak Starkey and guitarist Lee Spencer.
