When it was first announced that Shia LaBeouf was directing a short film with Marylin Manson, everyone turned their heads to this unlikely duo. Maybe it’s not as shockingly unexpected as yesterday’s Jack White and Insane Clown Posse train wreck (er, I mean track), but it’s interesting nonetheless. The Transformers star opened up a tad about the collaboration to MTV recently:“Marylin Manson to me is an indelible figure. He’s a big deal to me, and in my childhood, I don’t know of a scarier figure in art. He, in my teenage years, was the scariest thing in the world, so part of me has always been intrigued.”
”This, for me, this is a really cool diversion for me when I’m not making a movie. It gives me an opportunity to work with musicians I admire who I would otherwise never get to work with in any other capacity. I really have a fun time doing it. It allows me to be creative in another art form and work with heroes.”
The video below is the music video (also directed by LaBeouf) for “Born Villian”, a track off Manson’s currently untitled new album. Full of surreal and disturbing images, the video is not for people light of heart.
