Not much has been heard in the realm of recording for Muse since The Resistance’s release back in 2009, but this is soon to change. According to the trio’s manager, Anthony Addis, the band is hoping to record a new album this coming year and have it released by October 12, 2012.
With a group such as Muse, we could be looking at any number of genres for the coming album. According to Matt Bellamy’s comical Twitter posts, the new album may be more along the lines of, “christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia.” Addis mentioned that although he has not heard any of the new material, each member constantly writes on tour, so the gears are already in motion for the new record.
