The 2011 American Music Award aired tonight and once again Taylor Swift was the big winner, walking away with awards for “Country Female Artist” and “Artist of the Year”. Nicki Minaj was another big winner. The rapper took home awards for “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist” and “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album” for Pink Friday.
Other winners included Maroon 5 for favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Bruno Mars for favorite pop/rock male artist, Lady Antebellum for favorite country band/duo/group, Beyonce for favorite soul/R&B female artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for “Loud” and Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year.
