Blogs and radio stations have all been flooded with a excess amount of “Paris” remixes. As I type, I’m sure yet another one is being recorded that will be available on a Youtube channel near you. It’s not that these versions are bad, I just don’t understand why I would play yours when I have Jay’s and Ye’s. Overall, the lack of creativity makes the surplus of remixes annoying and overdone.
But now Parks & Recs swagger coach Aziz Ansari has taken it to a new level. Aziz along with Matthew Shawver recreated the smash single using only Emojis (found on the iPhone). It’s funny and creative, and now we just have to sit back and wait for the copy cats to take this to the next level. Just remember when Emojis rap takes over, Aziz will sit at the throne (see what I did there…clever huh?). Check out the remix below (courtesy of Stereogum).
