While her last stint on Broadway shut down after just 17 weeks, Dolly Parton is scheming up new ways to have her name in lights.
MSN reports that the songstress is planning on taking her life story to the stage. Parton plans on writing and producing a show based on her life’s story.The singer, songwriter and actress will have no shortage of material. She has been releasing albums for over 40 years, acted in more than 10 movies and even has an amusment park named after her.
For Dolly’s next upcoming project she teams up with Queen Latifah and Kris Kristofferson to play a choir member that takes her team to a national competition in the upcoming film, “Joyful Noise”. She and Latifah must share the small spotlight in order to get their chorus to nationals. Dolly says the musical would make a great Broadway play and maybe she will write music for it if it were to happen. The movie about music, faith and determination is set to hit theaters January 13, 2012.
