Seattle’s The Head & The Heart give Americana singer/songwriting a big ol’ group hug. Their style has been compared to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, though there are some obvious modern influences present. Whatever the inspiration, the group has made astounding leaps and bounds since the release of their self-titled debut on Sub Pop, and 2012 looks just as promising.
A track record of non-stop touring for The Head & The Heart has included shows with bands like Death Cab for Cutie, My Morning Jacket, Iron & Wine, Dr. Dog and The Decemberists. Their first single, “Lost In My Mind,” spent three weeks at #1 on AAA radio – that was ahead of Adele, Foster the People, Coldplay and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The band has already appeared on Conan, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Late Show with David Letterman, and continues that sprint with a performance on Austin City Limits airing this Saturday, January 7. Find your local channel here.
