It wasn’t their tour with Yelle last year that brought on my new-found love for French indie-pop duo, Housse de Racket, but members Pierre Leroux and Victor Le Masne’s densely hooky, suave, intense song-writing style. Their LP, Alesia, confirmed the suspicions. The two recorded that album with French producer Phillipe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix, The Rapture), and to much applause.
Though Zdar does have a certain ‘je ne sais quoi,’ it was the live performances of last year’s North American tour that really backed up all the hype over Housse de Racket, at least stateside. The fans wanted more, and now they’re back – announcing, today, the addition of North American dates that span March and April and include showcases at both SXSW and Coachella.
In honor of their American return, Housse de Racket are making their latest remix of “Chateau” available as a free download for fans at Discobelle.
