Lemmy: ‘Don’t Buy Our Boxset’

Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister has urged fans of the group not to buy their latest boxset, Complete Early Years, due to lack of their input and the retail price.

Selling for £294.99 on Universal Music’s website ($600 in some US stores), Lemmy has stated:

“Unfortunately, greed once again rears its yapping head…I would advise against it even for the most rabid completists.”

Released by the Sanctuary record label – an off-shoot of Universal – the boxset comprises of Motörhead’s first eight albums, seven singles, a photo book and a 7” version of ‘Leaving Here/White Line Fever’.

Some fans have already voiced their opinions on the band’s Facebook fan page. One said:

“$600…somebody is going to get rich off this and it aint(sic) the band”

Another fan was more direct:

“Do not buy this shit if you like Lemmy”
