Madonna is no saint. The singer has been known to push the envelope, but she isn’t one to be overshadowed by a childish stunt, and the Material Girl isn’t happy with M.I.A’s little Super Bowl prank.
Last weekend during Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime performance, M.I.A flipped off the cameras while performing her verse of Madge’s latest single, “Give Me All Your Luvin“.
This morning Madonna called into the Ryan Seacreast show to discuss the incident and said, “I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it.”
Madonna continued, “I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager … irrelevant thing to do … there was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? “It was just out of place.”
In an interview with Carson Daly, Madonna said that M.I.A has since apologized to her for the incident.
Although Madonna might forgive her, M.I.A. could be forced to come out of pocket if the FCC decides to impose a fine on the network.
