Sharon Van Etten Announces UK Tour

sharon van etten

Brooklyn based singer Sharon Van Etten has been one of the more talked about upcoming stars of 2012. Perhaps best known for her work with the Antlers and the National, alongside a solo career that’s so far produced three albums, Van Etten is no overnight success. However her newly released third album, ‘Tramp’ has garned much critical acclaim, with the NME declaring the album ‘One of the best albums of 2012 so far’. The album itself was produced by the National’s Aaron Dessner, and songs from previous albums ‘Epic’ and ‘Love More’ have been covered by Bon Iver and the National.

In support of the release, Van Etten has announced a five-date tour of the UK, which will include her largest headline show to date. Having already been confirmed as one of the National’s guest at Minehead’s ATP Festival this December, it’s clear we’ll be hearing a lot more of her this year.

The dates announced are as follows:

London Scala – May 16th
Manchester Deaf Institute – May 17th
Dublin Whelans – May 18th
Leeds Brudenell Social Club – May 20th
Brighton Komedia – May 21st
