The seminal Scottish post punk band The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced a series of US dates, the first in four years. Since releasing their last album ‘Munki’ in 1998, the band spent many years in the dark following a less than amicable split in 1999, but in 2007 it was announced that the Reid brothers were back working together, and have since re-issued their entire back catalog.
Original songwriting duo Jim and William Reid as well as guitarist John Moore and bassist Phil King will form the touring band. They will be joined by a drummer, ‘yet to be announced’. The bands’ tour stop include two dates at 2012 SXSW.
