An unhappy Adele took a play from the M.I.A live appearance playbook and flipped off the cameras at the 2012 Brit Awards after host James Corden interrupted her Album of the Year speech so Blur could begin their 11-minute set. See the video below.
The singer has stated that the gesture was aimed at “the suits, not the fans”.
Adele wasn’t the only one upset. Corden wasn’t thrilled that he had to pull the trigger on Adele’s speech.
“I was having the best night of my life and then I had to cut Adele off before she’s even had chance to say thank you. She’s the biggest star in the world. I don’t understand what happened but I’m upset about it.”
He continued:
“Blur played for 11 minutes and she didn’t get chance to say thank you once.”
