Funeral Home Knows Who’s Reponsible for the Picture of Whitney Houston in Her Casket

The owner of the Newark, N.J., funeral home that handled services for Whitney Houston is still adamant that the family owned funeral home had nothing to do the leaked photograph showing Houston in an open casket, but she does know who’s responsible.

Carolyn Whigham of Whigham Funeral Home and two pastors have come forward to say that they do know who took the picture of Houston and subsequently sold the photo to the National Enquirer, but they aren’t going to reveal the person’s identity, stating that it’s up to the Houston family.

Whigham says she determined the photo was taken Feb. 17, a day before the funeral.

Rev. Ronald Slaughter of nearby St. James AME Church said Thursday the funeral home “had no role in this shameful betrayal.”

The National Enquirer was criticized for publishing the photo of Houston, but have defended it’s decision, calling the picture “beautiful.”
