GLAAD Blast Kirk Cameron for Calling Gay Marriage ‘Unnatural’ in Interview

GLAAD ripped into ‘Growing Pains’ star Kirk Cameron for comments he made  on CNN’s Piers Morgan show.

Cameron said during last night’s show that he does not support gay marriage, saying, “I think that it’s … unnatural. I think that it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”

He continued:

“Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don’t think anyone else should either,” Cameron said. “So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don’t.”

After the interview GLAAD issued a statement in response to the actor’s comments.

“In this interview, Kirk Cameron sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV character,” said Herndon Graddick, senior director of programs at GLAAD, in a statement. “Cameron is out of step with a growing majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation.”

A GLAAD spokesman told TMZ that the organization will be monitoring Cameron’s media bookings and various acting gigs to ensure “the news and entertainment industry is aware of his outrageous anti-gay views.”

when immoral people have a comment or voice their opinions…we are to sit and listen and say nothing about it…oh its “freedom of speech”….But when a man or woman of God has a comment and voices his/her beliefs..then there is suddenly hell to pay…..what kind of nation would allow immoral people to decide whats in this best interest of this world and its children…..Kirk Cameron said absolutely nothing wrong…nor did he say anything disrespectful….he said what God wants all of us to say….the truth.

The question is, who is being deceived? 1 Tim 4.

        It seems pretty straight forward.

That’s why if you look at your actions and words you will see that they are filled with anger and self righteousness judgement. In these things, God is not found.

I have seen pictures of hundreds of gay marriages now…and on that day, their day…these people are filled with joy and love. Many have waited a lifetime.

If being gay is a sin, they will be judged for it. You need not try to be God.

If being gay is not a sin, you will be judged for saying it was. It doesn’t matter how you were confused because getting lost in anger and fear is about as far away from love as you can go.

        Open your eyes.

if GOd were not real…or if he had not dealt with this in scripture..then I would have agreed with you…..but to be like Christ is to be unpopular….where my father is offended….Im offended..Romans 1:26-27 – “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.” (NIV)

God also says that this act of homosexuality..is an ABOMINATION…meaning the most detestable of sins….I love all people….but its sin I hate…..I dont care how joyful they look…that just means they are comfortable in thier sinful nature….a person that doesnt want to be judged…doesnt want to change for the better….when you are living for God …you dont mind being corrected….so. im not angry…but the days of the world trying to silence the church are getting ready to come to an end….

I’m sick of gays. They think they can say and do anything they want but you can’t say anything about them or they try to destroy your career. I don’t believe your born gay. God says that it’s an abomination so why would he create you that way? It’s your choice so don’t try to shove it down our throats. And good for him, because any Christian that believes in gay marriage isn’t much of a Christian.

Thanks, Kirk, for standing up for your beliefs.  When is GLAAD going to respect freedom of speech?

What does age and time have to do with something God defined and gave to us?  As we age in civilization, do we throw away values and beliefs that were the foundation of civilization,  Thank you, God, for letting someone be strong enough to speak up.  I have a daughter who is lesbian in a gay marriage.  I love here, but I don’t condone the lifestyle she has chosen.  But I am her mother and I will be there for her, always; However, I must say that I see the personal torment and hatred that she has to endure everyday.  She was a beautiful young girl, raped at 7 years old, and beaten by ‘person of hatred’ that beat her,.   I am appalled at the hatred of this treatment of her decison, and the beating did no good,  She is now in a relationship and fighting pain that disabled her daily.,  I love her much, but still do not condone her lifestyle.  I love here and hope others will lover other people that are lost and show by example what life should be,  I feel rage and anger of the fact that a teenage was attacked by a ‘gang’ of strangers, mostly men, in a strange state, and her prowess is what saved her.  She fought back and was so forceful the others ran, I admit I feel haTRED toward these people, I an more appalled that someone cannot speak their bekliefs without being personally attacked.  I hear no hatred, or anger being displayed in this video, just someone explaining his beliefs, and this ‘new society’ attacks him.  Perhaps giving up our religious beliefs, or any beliefs should be forfeited for this idea society we have today,  Home invasions,m robbery, murder, rape of both women and men, Should I go on,  No, because someone would track this to me, but for naught.  For I am only an old lady watching the changes in my life and paying for the choices I have made.  Thank you Kirk Cameron for being strong enough for those of us who hold similar values.  I apologize for the attack that instant and looked like it was staged, like the announcer was waiting to strike.  You handled it well,
