After five months on the air, Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network dropped “The Rosie Show.”
The daily talk program premiered in October to about 500,000 viewers but lost about half its audience in its first few days.
“The Rosie Show” recently changed its format to a one-on-one interview setting with celebrities such as Kathy Griffin, Chelsea Handler and former Illinois first lady Patti Blagojevich.
Winfrey thanked O’Donnell in a statement released by OWN, saying O’Donnell was “an incredible partner” who worked to put on the best show “every single day.”
O’Donnell said in a statement, “I was welcomed with open arms and will never forget the kindness of all I encountered. It was a great year for me – I wish the show was able to attract more viewers – but it did not. So I am headed back to my home in New York – with gratitude. On we go!”
The final episode will air March 30.
