Jedward Prove Their Mettle In Europe

Former X Factor contestants and Irish Eurovision hopefuls, Jedward, are flying high in many charts across Europe with their track ‘Waterline’.

For a Eurovision song to perform well in the charts before release is a rare anomaly, but John and Edward Grimes have managed to achieve top 20 success in Sweden, Latvia and Estonia – with the latter giving the twins a number one.

It has been reported that the only other song to achieve any remotely similar success has been the current favourite, ‘Euphoria’ by Loreen of Sweden.

In 2011, Jedward represented Ireland with the song ‘Lipstick’, which gave Ireland their highest number of points (119) since Marc Roberts’ 1997 entry, ‘Mysterious Woman’ (157).

The duo will take to the stage in the first Eurovision semi-final in Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday 22nd May.
