One of hip hop’s most unique emcees Aesop Rock will make his return to the scene after a 5 year solo artist hiatus with his upcoming album Skelethon, scheduled to release on July 10th. His previous albums have been distributed by the now-defunct independent label Definitive Jux, but Skelethon will mark Aesop’s first time working with another independent hip hop juggernaut Rhymesayers Entertainment; home to Atmosphere, the late Eyedea, Brother Ali, Evidence of Dilated Peoples, P.O.S and more.
Pitchfork just premiered the first single off the album titled “Zero Dark Thirty,” showcasing Aesop applying his trademark symbolic lyricism over a blend of electronics and breakbeats.
