Mobb Deep Breakup Rumors Dispelled

Yesterday, Twitter almost destroyed one of hip hop’s most beloved groups, the “infamous” duo Mobb Deep. Rapper/producer Havoc, one-half of the group fired some insults directly at his partner in crime Prodigy from his Twitter account, claiming the latter is a closeted homosexual and was planning to expose him. This was all punctuated with tweets saying it was the real Havoc tweeting and the account was not hacked. To all followers and fans, this automatically signaled a rift and the end of a historic legacy that the two have built since their debut album Juvenile Hell in 1992.

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Havoc dispelled the entire fiasco, saying that while the account wasn’t hacked, he lost his phone this past weekend and someone used it to make the insulting remarks. “I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knick’s game,” said Havoc, who went on to dismiss any ideas of the group ever breaking up. Havoc’s Twitter account has been shut down until further notice.

A fake Prodigy account (which somehow has the “verified” blue check mark) was going at Havoc as well, but moves have been made to terminate the check mark from that account.

The real Prodigy, who did not tweet or respond at all to any of the imposter Havoc’s disses, gave fans a sigh of relief by tweeting “Infamous Till My Death Box” and announced his next official birthday gift for his partner; a belt buckle with a lockable iphone case.
