Passion Pit Announce New Album

Massachusetts electropop outfit, Passion Pit have announced details of their forthcoming LP, entitled Gossamer.

Due to be released on 23rd July, the record will be the first since the band’s both commercially and critically successful 2009 debut Manners. The album will be released on the record label Columbia and will feature twelve new tracks. The band have been working on the follow-up since around 2010, where they spoke to NME about the release. Lead vocalist and keyboard player Michael Angelakos said of the release; ”(it’s) gonna be a really fantastic, exciting, beautiful, gorgeous record. An absolutely beautiful record. I’m so excited.”

In line with the new release the band have also released a large number of North American tour dates, with support from Hot Chip and Justice on respective dates. That’ll certainly be a show no one’d want to miss. As well as the North American tour, the group will also play the Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK.
