Tupac Sales Increase by 571 Percent After Hologram’s Coachella Performance

Virtual Tupac’s performance at Coachella has jumped started the late rapper’s record sales.  According to Billboard, sales for Tupac’s 1998 album “Greatest Hits” increased by 571 percent, landing the album in the Billboard 200 for the first time since 2000.

“Hail Mary” — the track performed by the hologram at Coachella– was downloaded 13,000 times (a 1,530% sales increase).  “California Love” (featuring Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman) also saw an increase. The track was downloaded 11,000 downloads (119% increase), and the second track virtual pac performed at Coachella,  “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted” (featuring Snoop Dogg), sold 9,000 (up 881%).

With these numbers it’s safe to say that we’ll see more virtual performances in the future.
