Video: Childish Gambino Live at Coachella 2012

The deserts of Indio, CA were set ablaze this past weekend due to the many electrifying performances at this year’s Coachella. One performance in particular proved to be especially energetic as Community star Donald Glover’s musical alter-ego Childish Gambino ran through an incredible set despite having a broken leg during the second day of the festival. Gambino and his live band performed selections from his debut album Camp, EP, and even delve into his early 2012 material from the free mixtape Culdesac. Dr. Dre-protege Kendrick Lamar and XXL Freshman Danny Brown also showed up to perform a remix of Gambino’s “You Know Me”, adding another dose of energy to an otherwise phenomenal set. Hip hop artists should really invest in live bands for shows, because this definitely set the standard.
