Will We Hear Never Released Solo Work from Kurt Cobain?

In 1994, Kurt Cobain, the legendary frontman for Nirvana, committed suicide at the age of 27, but it’s been rumored that he’d been working on a solo album.

Eric Erlandson, guitarist for Hole, claims he has actually heard some of Kurt’s solo material and in his new book, Letters to Kurt, Erlandson talks about his relationship with the star.

Not knowing if this solo work would ever be released, Erlandson boasts to the US TV station Fuse, ”I was really excited about some of the stuff he was working on.  That’s why I was really sad when he died.”

The guitarist claims Cobain’s never-released album contained one cover record.

“I won’t say what it is.  I don’t own the stuff.  I just hope that one day it will be released for fans.  It’s just so heartbreaking.  It’s not surprising.  It’s a very sweet, just touching song.”

The king of grunge, Cobain’s band Nirvana was one of the most successful bands of their time.  Some of  their hit songs include “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Come as You Are”.
