Lead singer of The Dandy Warhols, Courtney Taylor-Taylor, has just announced he will be “designing” his own limited edition wine in the near future.
In a post on the band’s official website, Taylor-Taylor said:
“Ok everyone I’m going to be designing a wine and doing a limited run (prolly less than 100 cases).
I’ve been collecting wines of the world for years now and so I guess its about time. That and I was asked to. I’m going to have the actual blending/tasting/mixing on the afternoon of the Brooklyn show so I’ll be trying wines along the way and sending you my tasting notes and photos of bottles.”
He added that the main reason for making his own wine was to “CREATE A BLEND MAINLY FOR THE VERY TRICKY INDIAN AND MEXICAN CUISINES”, so that a drink could be found to suitably compliment them
Surprisingly enough there is precedent for musicians making their own beverages, with pop group Hanson producing their own beer, “Mmmhop”, and British melody-mongers Elbow doing the same.
