Iggy Pop Releases Album of Old Romantic Tunes

Iggy Pop, the bad boy of “Search and Destroy”, the self-dubbed “walking cheetah with a hand full of napalm” has released a romantic album in French called Apres, the singer announced yesterday in Paris.

Daring  record executives who said Apres is a potential flop, the punk rock progenitor released the album directly on iTunes.

Apres is clearly a romantic album, packed with  love song classics in English and French. Iggy Pop’s deep bass voice is seductive as he sings classics such as Serge Gainsbourg’s “La Javanaise” and retains its punk rockishness through La Vie en Rose, much like in “Never Met a Girl Like You Before.”
