Canadian indie band Metric today have previewed their new single from their upcoming release entitled Synthetica, due to be released on 12th June.
The track, Youth Without Youth, is a drum heavy synthy sounding track, some of whom have commented sounds almost Muse-like. The song is the first single to be released from the record. Emily Haines, Metric’s enigmatic frontwoman has said of the record:
“Yeah it was a pretty intense process making that song, it started as just one verse, a story, very slow sad story about the decaying social state through the eyes of a depraved child. And over the half and a half of making the record, the song developed into several verses, which captured the growth of this child; the evolution of this child to a teenager.”
