This is the year, fellow Dulli-lovers. This is the year when The Afghan Whigs, charmers and bastards of the nineties, finally return to the stage. They play their first show at ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror in London in less than a week. While the band have been excited about the idea, they haven’t really cemented anything official on the possibility of recording new material. Until now. Listen below.
The Afghan Whigs – See and Don’t See(mp3 link)
Mmmm… Yeah, that’s good stuff. What really makes it so good is it isn’t just The Twilight Singers feat. members of The Afghan Whigs. The song is as dark and seductive as we’ve come to expect from The Twilight Singers, sure, but the track is clearly a Whigs song. The confidence oozes from every pore of the track, it’s a confined, restrained effort from a band who clearly haven’t forgotten how to work together. The song feels as if it could fit quite snugly on Black Love, Now We Can Begin or maybe even as a B-Side for 1965.
You can download the song for free at noon EST today here below.
