If you are in Los Angeles and are looking for a great way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with some great music, look no further than the 26th Annual UCLA JazzReggae Festival on Sunday, May 27th and Monday, May 28th at the University of California-Los Angeles Intramural Field.
Hip-hop’s favorite band The Roots will be embarking on an extensive Summer touring schedule, starting with their headlining slot on UCLA JazzReggae Festival’s “Jam Day” (Sunday, May 27th) with Booker T. Jones, Gary Clark Jr., Thundercat, Selah Sue and Sonnymoon. This will be The Roots’ second time gracing the festival; their first appearance dating back to 2008.
Grammy Award-winning Reggae singer Shaggy is headlining the festival’s ”Reggae Day” taking place Monday, May 28th.
Past lineups at the multi-generation festival have included Roy Ayers, Steel Pulse, Lupe Fiasco, The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble, Little Dragon, Q-Tip, Nas & Damien Marley, Barrington Levy, Nneka, Erykah Badu and many more.
