Kelly Clarkson: “Stronger” Than Ever

So far, 2012 has been a very busy year for pop superstar Kelly Clarkson. Her fifth studio album Stronger debuted at number two and the LP’s two singles “Mr. Know It All” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”, were both top ten hits. In fact the latter was her third number one chart topper along side “A Moment Like This,” and “My Life Would Suck Without You.”

Clarkson, 30, recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of her Idol win by launching her own music reality show Duets. John Legend, Sugerland’s Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke join Clarkson as judges. Unlike Idol or The Voice however, these superstars are not merely critiquing the singers. They join them on stage signing–you guessed it–duets.

In addition to all this career success, Clarkson has recently made headlines for dropping 30 pounds and finding love with talent manager and Reba McEntire’s step son Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson opened up to the UK’s Daily Mail about the relationship.

“Brandon is my manager’s son. I’ve known him for six years but he was married. Then, suddenly, there he was at the Super Bowl and he was single.”

Clarkson has joked how her happiness has wreaked havoc on her creativity. “I’m writing all happy s***. It’s killing me. Like, I’m trying to write a tough song and I can’t; it’s coming out all butterflies and rainbows. It’s killing me.”

Those familiar with Clarkson’s music know that she has the monopoly on torch songs. It looks like album number six might send America’s first Idol in a completely different direction.

Stronger’s third single “Dark Side” was recently released to radio.

You can here this song and many other hits when Clarkson hits the road this summer with The Fray for a 30 date tour.

About Brittanyt

Brittany Tenpenny has wanted to be a writer for as long as she could remember. Aside from brief fantasies of pop stardom and becoming the female Indiana Jones, Brittany was dead set on writing. She pursued her dream all through her academic career, becoming a staff writer for "The Argo" at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey where she graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. Last year, Brittany's fictional pieces were published in the e-book "A Calm Whisper."

Brittany is now a graduate student at Rowan University and is currently working on a novel.
