Miley Cyrus Engaged

Miley Cyrus is engaged!

The tabloid staple announced her engagement to Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth via People magazine on June 6 2012.

Cyrus, 19, took to Twitter to express her happiness: “Thank you for all the love today :) I’m happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true.”

According to published reports, Hemsworth, 22, proposed on May 31st with a custom-made 3.5 carat diamond ring.

It seems like only yesterday, ex Disney alum Miley Cyrus sang and danced her way into living rooms across the nation on the popular children’s show Hannah Montana. Cyrus played the titular character for four years when the show ended its run in 2011. Aside from high television ratings, the show spawned 8 albums (including 2 soundtracks and a live concert album), 31 singles, 2 music videos, a 3D concert film and a feature film.

Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the set of the 2010 tear-jerker The Last Song. The Nicholas Sparks adaptation was a box office success, earning $89 million. Hemsworth recently starred in The Hunger Games.

Don’t expect the cute couple to tie the knot anytime soon however. Both stars have a boat load of commitments. Hemsworth is gearing up to film The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire while Cyrus is hard at work on a new album. Music producers are calling the LP “very adult and sexy.”

Cyrus’ previous effort, Can’t Be Tamed failed to live up to the standards set by her other albums. Many deemed Miley’s image as too sexy for her pre-teen fan base.
