Dance artist / horrific, rodent-based acid hallucination deadmau5 has released a new track, and it features My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way on vocals. The track, ‘Professional Griefers’ is confirmed to be released in September.
Way, who is married to Lyn-Z, the bassist of Mindless Self Indulgence, is no stranger to a raucous, electronic beat (or however it is the kids these days describe the genre, with their iPods and robotic vacuum cleaners). As such, his violent vocals lend themselves wholeheartedly to the song; and it probably helps that the ex-emo heartthrob is no stranger to lyrics about ‘broken things’ and ‘bleeding’.
The mau5 himself has been busy gracing the UK, having headlined London’s Wireless Festival this Friday, and due to play Daresbury’s Creamfields Festival this August. I hope that giant head of his is built not to short circuit in the British summer rain.
There’s currently a little war going on in the comments section, arguing whether deadmau5 has become too mainstream, so feel free to less us know your opinion. Either way, my girlfriend is prancing around in the background as this song is playing, so it must be doing its job to some extent.
