Old 97s Announce Too Far To Care Anniversary Tour This Fall

Having a commemorative birthday tour for a seminal album seems to have become a staple move for bands that make it past the ten-year mark these days. Andrew W.K. did it earlier this year for the 10th anniversary of I Get Wet and today Old 97s announced that they will be celebrating the 15 year anniversary of Too Far To Care by playing it in its entirety (plus a secondary fan-driven set) across a slew of US dates listed below. Too Far To Care is a classic representation of alt-country at a time when it was still cementing itself as a genre and it’s a necessary addition to any well-rounded record collection. Furthermore, lead singer and principle songwriter Rhett Miller will be opening up each date with an acoustic set on the heels of his latest LP The Dreamer. Miller is a musical force on his own and his opening slot, along with Those Darlins or Salim Nourallah (date depending), makes for a hell of a lineup. Some venues have tickets posted, so hop on ‘em.
