Skrillex to Soundtrack New Disney Film, ‘Wreck-It Ralph’

“April fools!” I hear you cry? Nope, this headline is actually going to happen. Wreck-It Ralph will be soundtracked by Skrillex, the commander in chief of Dubstep; the knob twiddling, bass-heavy genre of music so distinctively new age, older citizens have given up exclaiming music “just isn’t what it used to be,” refusing to play into what they only believe can be a well thought out, deep running conspiratorial coup to reinforce the aforementioned stereotype.

The news was announced yesterday at San Diego’s Comic-Con, where ten minutes of the film was shown in a preview. The film itself focusses around the heroic plight of an arcade-game ‘bad guy’ attempting to start afresh and skirt away from the darker side of life. Set for a November release, the film features the voice acting talents of Sarah Silverman, John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer. Though I may have made much of Skrillex’s dubstep exploits, the DJ, who’s real name is Sonny Moore, took to Twitter shortly after the announcement to explain that the job would be a simple soundtracking job, and that viewers shouldn’t expect any “dance floor bangers!” The DJ, who won three Grammys earlier in the year, was also recently announced as the official soundtracking artist to Harmony Korine’s upcoming release, Spring Breakers, which stars both Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens.
