If you had doubts as to Sylvester Stallone‘s God Complex, let them now be cast aside. In a hilariously tasteless move, the PR department behind The Expendables 2has released a poster that depicts the huge cast in a parody of Da Vinci’s masterpiece The Last Supper.
In short, the poster is, of course, ridiculous: If anyone on it was going to be Jesus, surely it would be Arny…
As far as symbolism goes, it hardly takes a new Da Vinci Code to get the little reference that is Dolph Lundgren (who betrayed the team in the first film) in Judas’s seat. The seats of the rest of the cast may hint to plot details, but really, who can concentrate on plot-twists and symbolism when they’re looking at Sylvester Stallone bathed in heavenly light.
Now all we need is a special guest appearance by God.
In the name of Stallone, and of Statham, and of Van Damme. Amen.
We're looking for writers and editors to join the team. Interested? Apply today!
Josh is an English student currently studying English Literature with Creative Writing at University in the UK. When he's not wasting time acquiring the grappling beam in Super Metroid, you'll find him being far more productive - listening to Black Sabbath and reading comics. He hopes his work at The Silver Tongue will help him get his writing out to the public and professional world, heaven forbid.
Thank you for being such an awesome and supportive audience! You guys truly do rock.
