Stars Turn Out for Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ Soundtrack

Massive names in music – such as Robert Smith (The Cure), Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and The Flaming Lips – have contributed to the soundtrack of Tim Burton’s latest offering, the 3D remake of his own 1984 film Frankenweenie.

Karen O has penned new track ‘Strange Love’, which she says is “…quirky, good vibes music…” and is inspired by “…B-movie fright film references sprinkled throughout the film”. Mark Foster of Foster the People features on ‘Polartropic (You Don’t Understand Me)’, alongside Robert Smith’s ‘Witchcraft’ and The Flaming Lips’ collaboration with Grace Potter – ‘My Mechanical Friend’.

Frankenweenie is inspired by the classic Mary Shelley novel, Frankenstein, and sees a young boy bring his pet dog back from the dead.
