Alt-J made quite the first impression with their critically acclaimed debut album An Awesome Wave. Even though they haven’t been around too long, they’ve already made enough of a name for themselves to attract the attention of some big names, the most recent of which being popular folk band Mumford and Sons.
Click here to listen to the band’s cover of ‘Tessellate’ on BBC Radio 1. The song is still very much visible beneath the layers of folk the band have covered it in, and it makes for an interesting reinterpretation of the song. It’s these little things that make me glad BBC Radio 1 are still around; the venue constantly seems to be a warm, open celebration of music.
Mumford and Sons are currently touring their second album, Babel, made available yesterday.
