Watch: Foo Fighters – Times Like These – Unplugged at Apple iPhone 5 Event

Foo Fighters

On Wednesday, Foo Fighters played an unplugged gig at Apple headquarters in celebration of the company’s iPhone 5 announcement.

Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced the band after revealing details of the newest-generation iPhone, an “ultra-thin” iPod touch and iPod nano, and a redesigned iTunes with iCloud integration that will be available as a free download starting in October.

Once Foo Fighters took the stage, Dave Grohl stepped to the mic and proclaimed, “What an incredible day.” Then, the band played an unplugged, acoustic rendition of one of its greatest hits, “Times Like These.”  You can watch the video of the performance below.

In an interview with the Guardian regarding the Apple gig, Grohl said, “One of the incredible things about being here is that you’re meeting people who are shaping our future…And just like Little Richard, Tom Petty, Jimmy Page, these are just people who took it upon themselves to change our future, but you meet them and they’re people! And this one’s dedicated to all those people.”

The band’s Cupertino performance came six days after taking the stage to honor President Obama with “My Hero” at the Democratic National Convention. Foo Fighters had previously announced they playing their “last show for a long time” when they tore through a marathon 26-song headlining set at Reading Festival on August 26.
