Xiren is a Denver, CO rock “project,” a word used often these days when there is only one person pulling all the strings, started by a guy named Xiren Kenny(pronounced “seer-rin”). His sound melds and bends classic rock, 80s pop and garage, so trying to pin him into a genre more specific than just alternative rock is a difficult task.
The quintessential DIY artist, Xiren shot his new club video for “Not A Love Song” in 6 hours; creating the club scene in a yoga dance studio, finding his leading lady on Craigslist and coloring the actors in glow paint from a bucket that he poured. The song feels like something The Cars would have written in collaboration with some of today’s electronic artists.
