Over the summer King Tuff, AKA Kyle Thomas, released his self-titled sophomore record, a breakthrough album that figuratively stuffs 70s glam rock guitar with pop sensibility into the “garage” (read our review here). Earlier this week Thomas previewed single “Screaming Skull,” with B-side “Love Potion,” on Pitchfork before its October 9th release date. “Screaming Skull” furthers the devilish imagery associated with Thomas’ music—via song titles, album covers, etc—but it is too melodic to be any kind of evil; this song is his most pop-tastic to date.
