Juno Award winners Wintersleep, one of Halifax, Nova Scotia’s most scintillating musical exports, are currently in the midst of a massive fall tour that will wrap up three weeks. The accomplished indie rockers are touring in support of their excellent fifth album, Hello Hum, which saw its release back in June. In honor of the current string of dates alongside the outstanding, fellow Canadian trio Elliott BROOD, Wintersleep are offering a free five-song sampler that features some of their finest, critically acclaimed work.

The sampler includes a gorgeous, acoustic rendition of “In Came the Flood” from Hello Hum, and it kicks off with the deliriously catchy and poignantly penned single “Nothing Is Anything (Without You)”. The halfway point of the mix offers up the sharp, fuzzed-drenched Hello Hum B-side “Martyr,” which blasts from the speakers through a wall of sound with pounding rhythms, squalling guitars and a swelling, R.E.M.-worthy chorus. Wintersleep has also been so generous as to include two essential cuts from their 2007 breakthrough, Welcome to the Night Sky. They give us the sublimely rendered “Weighty Ghost,” which is unequivocally indie pop at its very finest. When you couple the breathtaking, communal release of the mighty chorus that is “Weighty Ghost” with the pure pop glory of “Laser Beams,” a Welcome to the Night Sky gem that slow burns with hard-hitting pensive lyricism before detonating in total, blissful release, Wintersleep are giving you their best work to cherish and play again and again until you wear them out.
