Icky Blossoms complement The Faint November 30th at Cannery Ballroom

Icky Blossoms

With a recent album produced by Dave Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, Liars, etc.), a record deal with Saddle Creek and an opening slot for The Faint’s Danse Macabre tour, Icky Blossoms are a pigeon-holing anomaly. The Omaha-based trio’s debut eponymous release is an infectiously versatile album that explores everywhere from electronic beats to sexy dance punk grooves. If not for The Faint’s groundbreaking Danse Macabre – who were arguably the first group to tote the aforementioned styles – it is quite possible that Icky Blossoms used the record as a foundation when building their collective sound.

In a recent interview with TST, the group detailed Dave Sitek’s involvement, Nik Fackler’s film history and how both their and The Faint’s shows culminate into loud and sweaty dance parties. Check it out at the link above, and make sure to check out Icky Blossoms and The Faint at Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom this coming Friday, November 30th!
