The Strokes are back. Well, sort of. The NYC band largely responsible for reviving US garage rock in the early 21st century just released their new single, “One Way Trigger,” and it might be their biggest departure from previously recorded material since “Juicebox” bridged the gap between Room On Fire and First Impressions of Earth. The song suggests the upcoming full-length may trend towards a more space-aged, electronic aesthetic, light years (pun) away from that garage sound that defined their emergence on the scene.
