Daft Punk Album Tease?

If you watched SNL on Saturday, you may have noticed an out of the ordinary advertisement featuring Daft Punk.  The electronic music sensation consisting of two French musicians has been in the house music scene since the 90′s.  The commercial gave viewers a 15 second snippet of a new song while the Daft Punk logo glittered across the screen followed by their legendary robot masks.  No information is given before the ad is over but being vague & mysterious is nothing new for the odd pair.  They’ve been known for surprising their fans with guest appearances & waiting until their encore to shock audiences with their led capabilities.  Rumors behind this puzzling ad are that the duo may be releasing a new album this year!

Since writing the soundtrack for the remake movie, Tron, in 2010, Daft Punk hasn’t released a studio album since Human After All in 2005.   They also recently announced Columbia Records as their new label.  All of these details sound promising for Daft Punk fans around the globe.  They may keep their fans in the dark but they never seem to disappoint once they reveal the motive to their sneaky scheme.  Until then, we must wait.
