Tom Hardy wrestles with his demons in first teaser for 'Venom'

There's some confusion over whether or not Venom is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and whether or not Spider-Man (currently played by Tom Holland) will appear.

The central character, Venom, is a mainstay in Marvel's Spider-Man comics who first appeared as a villain before becoming an anti-hero.

The first teaser trailer for Sony's Venom has arrived, coming the day after the studio unveiled the official teaser poster for the upcoming comic book adaptation. "Teasers usually give us at least a one second shot of the title character", one user wrote.

This Is What Meghan Markle's First Engagement Ring Looked Like
The show's creator Aaron Korsh praised the stars for their work on the series, Entertainment Weekly reported . When Markle's engagement was announced in November of 2017, Pierce tweeted his approval.

"Everyone's got their thing", he says. Maybe it's a break-up, a death, an accident. "We all have our own problems, our own issues, our own... demons". Unfortunately we only see that creature in a holding tank, as the full Venom suit is nowhere to be found in the teaser. One thing is for sure, though: we've got a killer cast to contend with, led by Tom Hardy, the multifaceted performer who can seemingly do just about anything. Homecoming, a Sony film which is directly part of the MCU (and features an extended appearance from Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man), Venom will be on its own track, though it will technically take place in the same world. In addition to Hardy, Venom stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze and Reid Scott.

Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower), and Kelly Marcel wrote the script. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal.

"Putting out a Venom trailer without Venom is like a Solo trailer without Han Solo", wrote another. The film isn't released until 4 October 2018 in Australia (and 5 October in the US), so there's plenty of time for the big reveal.
