Packers' Rodgers overcomes leg injury in comeback win

Aaron Rodgers was carted off the field in Sunday night's game against the Chicago Bears after landing awkwardly on his knee, a potentially huge blow for a team that has traditionally struggled without their franchise quarterback.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hit wide receiver Randall Cobb with a pass up the middle in front of diving Bears safety Eddie Jackson late in the fourth quarter Sunday night at Lambeau Field. With a slight limp and clearly protecting his left leg, Rodgers led Green Bay to four consecutive scoring drives in rallying the Packers to victory.

However, Rodgers' knee turned out to not be a severe injury, and after the Bears orchestrated a field goal drive to go up 20-0 to open the second half, out trotted Rodgers to lead the Packers offense.

The Chicago Bears almost had a superb upset to start the 2018 National Football League season against the rival Green Bay Packers, which was fueled by recently-acquired star Khalil Mack. Kizer's first two series after Rodgers departed were disastrous, both because of the newest Bears defender, Khalil Mack. At the time, with Chicago owning the scoreboard and the momentum, it was the kind of game-changing play worth his $90 million contract.

After the Bears offered one of those three-and-outs after the fumble, Mack left nothing to doubt, intercepting Kizer thanks to a huge rush from Roy Robertson-Harris and taking it to the end zone for a 17-0 lead.

Rodgers' post-injury final totals were a stunning 17-of-23 for 273 yards and three touchdowns, including one emphatic chuck out of bounds to run out the final seconds.

He moved in and out of the pocket and escaped the wrath of the Packers' defense to extend drives in the first half. If Green Bay had scored a touchdown, they would've won either way.

The biggest issue was that they were not being conservative in the running game, but yet the passing game.

The Packers would get one more stop to seal the game. "But you want to win these games".

Trailing 20-3, Rodgers and the Packers faced a second-and-two in Chicago territory. On Trubisky's longest completion of the night, Robinson ran a fade route from the slot, and was closely covered down the right sideline by Green Bay rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander, but was still able to come away with the catch.
